Children’s Chapel

Children’s Chapel is for kids ages 4-10. Kids who want to attend Children’s Chapel, will follow Katie Wiese out, shortly after the 9:30 Church service begins, and kids will come back into Church before the Eucharist. Kids can attend Children’s Chapel by themselves but parents are always welcome to join us.

At the  start of Chapel time Michael Cover or Krislyn Wondracheck will sing some beautiful and spirited, praise songs with the kids, and then Katie Wiese will follow with a bible story. The bible lesson will correspond to the Gospel reading of the current Episcopal Church Liturgical calendar. After the bible lesson there is usually time for a craft or game, before the kids proceed back into Church.

Children’s Chapel meets every Sunday except on “Brunch Sundays” and holiday breaks.

Christian Formation

We have an excellent program for our elementary students.  The curriculum, Weaving Gods Promise, is written specifically for the Episcopal Church. The main focus of each lesson is to show the kids how God’s promise of salvation is “woven” into our daily lives.

We want the Christian Formation classes to be fun and informative. We begin each class with our own “fellowship time”. The kids have a treat and get a chance to talk to their friends. After our snack, we begin with a bible story, followed by a discussion, game and/or craft.

Classes will begin immediately following the 9:30 service and will end promptly at 11:30. We generally meet as two groups, JK through 2nd grade. We understand that kids may not be able to attend Formation classes every Sunday but please join us when you can!

Sunday School meetings following the 9:30 Liturgy during the program year (September to early June).  Also on Sundays,  all children ages 3-8 are welcome to attend Children’s Chapel.  This children’s Litany of the Word is offered during the first half of the 9:30 service.  The children light altar candles, sing songs, pray and hear the lesson of the day in an age appropriate context. They rejoin their families in church in time to share together in Communion.

All children are welcome to our annual Vacation Bible School.
