Scrip is Fundraising While You Shop®. Trinity uses Scrip to raise funds for Outreach ministries. These funds are then distributed by the Outreach Committee. Scrip turns everyday shopping into cash for the parish when you use the retail gift cards to pay for everyday purchases (like gas and groceries) instead of the usual credit/debit card or cash transactions. It’s a great way to shop for gifts as well!
This is how it works –
- You buy a retail card through Trinity’s Scrip program at face value for national and local retail stores where you already shop
- Trinity Outreach Committee buys the cards at 1-13% less than face value (the percentage varies by retailer).
- The difference between the face value and what Trinity pays = the funds raised for Outreach!
You can print an order form HERE and bring it with you on Sunday!
Here’s an example –
Mrs. Jones needs some gardening supplies, so she buys a $100 The Home Depot® gift card for $100 through the Trinity Scrip program. Cha-Ching! She just earned $4.00 for Trinity because the retailer sells Trinity the cards at 4% less than the face value. When she checks out at The Home Depot, she pays with the gift card instead of cash, credit or debit! Easy!
